The short version. PDF Reader opens and renders your documents entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no account and no sign-up. The app is free and supported by ads, and it uses a crash reporter and anonymous usage analytics (which you can switch off) — those are the only reasons any data leaves your device at all.
This policy explains what the PDF Reader mobile app (“the app”) does with your information.
The app is published by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). It applies to the Android and iOS
versions of the app distributed under the package identifier vn.huda.pdfreader.
PDF and Office documents you open are read and rendered locally, using the operating system’s own document facilities. We do not have a server that receives your files, and the app contains no code that transmits document contents anywhere.
The app keeps a library of the documents you have opened. Stored on your device only, this consists of:
This data lives in a local database in the app’s private storage. It is not synced, not backed up to us, and not readable by other apps. Removing a document from your library, or uninstalling the app, deletes it.
The app needs no connection to read a document already on your device. It contacts the network in four situations only:
The app is free and shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To serve them, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects data on its own behalf — typically a device advertising identifier, IP address, device and OS characteristics, and interactions with the ads shown. We do not receive your documents, your library or your reading history through this, and we never send any of it to the ad service.
Google’s handling of this data is governed by its own policies:
You can limit ad personalisation from your device settings: on Android, under Settings → Privacy → Ads; on iOS, under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, where the app must ask permission before tracking you across other companies’ apps. Declining is respected and the app keeps working normally.
You can remove all ads with an optional Remove ads subscription (monthly or yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers). Payment is handled entirely by Google Play (or the App Store on iOS): we never see your card or bank details, your name or your email address. The app only asks the store whether your subscription is active, and remembers the answer on your device so ads stay off while you are offline. While you are subscribed, the app makes no ad requests at all. The store may record purchase events (such as a completed purchase or a renewal) in Firebase Analytics, without your payment details. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions (or in your Apple ID settings), or from Settings → Remove ads in the app. Google’s handling of purchase data is described in the Google Payments Privacy Notice.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to learn about crashes so they can be fixed. When the app crashes, a report is sent containing the error and its stack trace, the app version, the device model, and the OS version. It carries an installation identifier that is not tied to your name or account. Reports do not contain document contents, file names, or the contents of your library.
The app also uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to understand which features are used, so we know what to improve. It records anonymous interactions such as: which screen is open; that a document was opened, and how (from the file picker, from another app, from your library, from a link, or from the Vault); the document’s general type (PDF, image, text or other) and a rough page-count range; that a search was run and a rough number of matches; which annotation tool was chosen; that a bookmark, share, print, copy or page jump was used; Vault actions such as unlocking (by PIN or biometrics) and adding or removing a file; settings changes, recorded as the setting and the option chosen; and whether an ad or the app-rating prompt was shown. It also records coarse properties of your setup: theme, library layout, app language, whether the Vault is set up, and a rough library-size range. Firebase adds the app version, device model, OS version, country, and an installation identifier that is not tied to your name or account. We never set a user ID.
These statistics never include file names, titles, folder paths, web addresses, search terms, document or Vault contents, or any text you type. The app is built so that only fixed category values — never free text — can be sent.
Usage analytics follow your consent. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing is collected until you agree in the consent message shown at first launch, and you can change that choice at any time under Settings → Ad privacy options. Everywhere, you can turn usage analytics off under Settings → Share anonymous usage data; collection then stops immediately. Crash reporting and usage analytics are disabled entirely in development builds.

The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will look into it.
Because the app stores your library only on your device, you control it directly: remove individual documents from within the app, or uninstall the app to erase everything it has stored. Resetting or deleting your advertising identifier is done in your device settings. Usage analytics can be switched off at any time under Settings → Share anonymous usage data.
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and the UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and to object to certain processing. For data held by Google as described above, exercise those rights through Google. For anything within our control, write to us at the address below and we will respond.
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s store listing.
